Press Information
Born on March 31, 1963 at Reggio Emilia, Francesco started early in music, by playing clarinet at the age of 7.
From 1978 to 1982 he plays sax in a folk group, while studying at the Conservatorio. Then he knows Andrea Mingardi and plays in his group, Supercircus.
In 1983 he starts the first group of his own, called "Studio hertz". In 1985 Francesco takes part in Castrocaro Festival for new voices, and he was the winner.
As such, he takes part in next year's Sanremo Festival as a new entry, and reaches the 5th place. In the following 3 years he records 2 singles and 2 albums for CGD and CBS, but also keeps studying jazz saxophone with Giorgio Baiocco, playing in jazz and fusion groups. In 1993 Francesco Gualerzi becomes the singer and poli-instrumentalist in the famous group NOMADI, releasing 5 albums and several singles with them, obtaining two golden records and 2 platinum records, and the single "Un pugno di sabbia" selling over 250.000 copies.
In 1998 he quits the group to pursue a solo carreer and express himself more completely with his own music.
Now, after two years, Francesco is ready with his own album: "La danza della vita" ("The dance of Life"): he is composer and writer of all songs, he sings and plays all horns, he is the arranger. It's an album that his fans have been long waiting for, and it will be performed live in the long-awaited forthcoming tour. In fact most of the musicians in the album are part of his band, and Francesco Gualerzi is one of those Artists who enjoy the dimension of the live concert, the high energy group, the paricipation of the audience. It's all in the album, but check for more in Francesco's live performances !
