Press information
After its early release on the Japanese market, the new album by Mario Maglione, "Napule è 'na canzona" is now released in Italy, too.
Exceptionally the album was released in Japan two months before than in Italy, for having it available during the long tour which has seen our Mario perform in 20 theatres in the main Japanese towns, in a show titles "Viva Napoli", with other big Neapolitan Artists such as AURELIO FIERRO, RITA RONDINELLA, and the singer/"compàre" Junko Matsumoto, with a group of expert Nepolitan musicians.
The personal success obtained by Mario Maglione in the concerts, all in crowded theatres of over 2000 audience each, has been an important promotional tool for the album, that has been reviewed by most important music journalists in far-away Japan.
Now the album is released in Italy, on the independent label Bumshiva Music: it contains 9 songs of the best Neapolitan music tradition, some very famous as "Voce 'e notte", "Reginella", "'Na sera 'e maggio", "Luna caprese", "Vierno", "Chella llà", others more precious like "Uocchie c'arraggiunate" and the title tune "Napule è 'na canzona", but above all three new compositions written by Maglione himself, never before recorded and released: "Aria 'e mare", "Preghiera 'e pescatore", e "Fantasia".
Maglione's voice is accompanied by the peculiar guitar arrangements of Gianni Palazzo, certainly a further reason of interest. Also particularly impressiv is the graphic presentation of the CD, with "art" photos of Neapolitan subjects. .
We hope that also in Italy this new "work" by Mario Maglione, released four years after his previous album, will get the same attention and success, indoubtadly reserved by this "pupil" of the great Maestro Murolo, now bound for an international success carrer.
In fact this new album has been introduced to international record company executives during Midem in Cannes, and will be released in several foreign countries, in Europe, South America, Australia and Canada.
