| MOBY DICK was the first album
released by the new-born label BUMSHIVA MUSIC of the
most interesting voices in the Italian rock panorama, guitarist
MARCO COLOMBO was later "kidnapped" by Gianna
Nannini and went to take part in her group, one of the best
rock guitar player internationally, drums player PIERO PAPOTTI
was the "rhythmic engine" of several Italian rock
and blues groups, not forgetting the keyboards player VITTORE
"BILLY" ANDREOTTI, and bass player ENZO CAFAGNA,
later "kidnapped" by American Express and by Athena
Computers.
I can take the responsibility to state that CACAO
were the greatest real underground Italian group, even more
than famous groups as PFM, BANCO, AREA, ecc.
for their choice never to get to compromises with the phonographic
establishment
LOS GEMALA ( Grupo de Expression Musical Latino Americana,
para bailar, gozar, divertirse, romperse la cabeza, ha ha...)
were the first and most successful attempt to form a real
Latin American group in Italy.
Around CARLOS UGUETO and "timbalero" CANDELO
CABEZAS (who will be later be "kidnapped" by
LITFIBA, GIOVANOTTI , MINA and EROS RAMAZZOTTI),
at the times of these recordings, GEMALA were at the
top of their form and of "live " success, with a
drummer like FABIO AMODIO, a guitar player as MARCELLO
COSENZA, a trombone-player like PAOLO D'EMILIO,
with the help at bass by DALISO CERNESATO and at keyboards
by FABRIZIO GAROFOLI.
"Llego Tarzan" is still a "classic",
and "When I see you" among the best compositions
and interpretations of mourned Candelo.
EGGS-TIME, a group of very young talented musicians,
was inspired by the voice of STEFANIA CAMERA, now vocalist
in success TV shows, and the composers' talent of the two
great musicians FULVIO GRIFFINI e FRANCO VALENZANO.
BELORIZONTE was living its best success season, taking
part also to a Venice Festival, thanks to the beautiful voice
of JOANNA D'ARC, now back in in Brasil, to the composer's
talent of guitarist FERNANDO BARRETO, to the percussions'
inventive of GILSON SILVERA, still very active, founder
of music schools, of venues and of groups of Brasilian inspiration.
A guest jazz star, by the name of SILVIO D'AMICO,
took part in these recordings.
MON-O, a group of which traces have been lost for years now,
can proudly affirm of having created and performed "new-age"
and "ambient" music at a time when very few could
hardly understand the meaning of these words.
Center of the group were DANIELE DEMMA and MAURIZIO
PINI, authors of the beautiful "Love Song" which
is perhaps the "highlights" in this album.
The 'people of the night" of Milano clubs are well acquainted
with ANYTIME, also called BLUES ANYTIME, performers,
with the great experts BRUNO SARTORI and ANDREA
TOGNOLI at guitars, of the greatest blues classics, as
well as of their own compositions, as the "12 'o clock
in the night" in this collection.
Totally, a real "historical" collection, a document
of an age and of great Artists, in a never-to-be-repeated
moment of great creativity and energy.
