Rick Worrall 's carreer has been developing
for over 20 years.
He started performing in blues and rock venues in native Canada
in 1976, very young, for earning pocket money, but immediately
his natural talent for music and show came up, making of him
a cult for music clubs audiences.
Toronto's ATTIC Music label in 1979 released his first album,
followed by the second in 1981, while Rick was carrying on,
alone or with his group, in his intensive live performances.
Next album was released by A&M in 1991, with enthusiastic
comments on specialized music magazines like "Kerrang!"
and "Metal Hammer".
This album gave him the push and motivation for starting a
long o tour European Tour, in the most prestigeous venues
from Scandinavia to Spain, always with great energy and success.
Durin,g this tour Rick was putting together the ideas for
his new album, to which he started working upon his return
to Canada.
Here he meets Lance Anderson, a Toronto musician, and with
him he completes his compositions.Together with the best musicians
and session-men available in Canada, they organize the production
of the new album "When Love Is right", which represents
Rick Worrall's full maturity album.
Blues mixes with jazz, rhythm'n'blues influences melt with
country, with to-day's hip-hop, with forever present rock,
in the end a complete and fascinating album in its sonorities.
Not having a "multinational major" behind, the
independent label Hummer Records promotes the album with the
long live tours that Rick keeps doing in North America from
Canada to Miami, and with the new media, Internet.
And it's just by "surfing" on Internet and visiting
the "Billboard Talent Net" website, that this Artist
gets discovered by other Independant Labels in the world,
among which Bumshiva Music in Italy, and it gets to the first
release of this album in Europe.
"When Love Is Right" is music out of all boundaries,
very modern yet in its blues and jazz roots: the atmosphere
is the one of the best Eric Clapton, passing through Louis
Armstrong and Jimi Hendrix, who is also remembered in "We
will not forget", while "Drive baby drive"
is in a "Thelma e Louise" atmosphere, and "Mama
said" carries us somehow into a certain countryside America.
